Britney Spears announced she will be ending her four year Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino at the end of this year. She added an additional 18 shows to this year’s performances with the final show being on New Years Eve.
“As I prepare to say goodbye to ‘Piece of Me,’ I had no idea how magical this experience would be,” Spears said in a statement. “Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show.”
Britney announced the closing of her show on her twitter account by saying these will be the last shows “ever,” “Saying goodbye to this show is going to be SO hard.”

Tickets for the final 18 performances will go on sale April 14th through Ticketmaster.com. Shows are scheduled for May 3rd through 20th, August, September, October, November, and December with the final show December 31st. Since its opening in December 2013, Britney: Piece of Me has become one of Las Vegas most successful shows with nearly 250 performances during the four-year contract with Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
It is highly possible that Britney could take her show to another Casino in Las Vegas after ending this show though. When interviewed by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph stated “We expect a lot of interest from all parties. Britney basically sells out every show, and she loves Las Vegas, she loves performing in Vegas, and Vegas is a possibility going forward.”
